After 7 hours at the salon--SEVEN HOURS!--this is the final result.
She has scalp braids with extensions. They stay in for 8 weeks. She shampoos and conditions like normal. LaKeisha recommended them for the summer because braids are better for swimming since they keep the hair from drying out (and the style is easier to maintain).
We all love it! I think she looks beautiful. Here are some other shots.
So now we need to hit the pool, don't you think?

Thanks, everyone! Kristina, Mary has a dry essential oil that she uses on her hair (it's liquid but it's not wet--it is really freaky!) that her stylist said to continue using. But I do have some braid spray.

Jen, yes it did hurt, especially towards the front. LaKeisha said her whole head would be sore the first night and by Mary's report, she was right!

She's SO pretty! I really like the idea of styling only every 8 weeks, too. Just curious, why the extensions? Did the braids take up all her hair? I'd think short would be preferable for summer? Mary, even if you were bald, you're beautiful.
Mom, I don't know why the extensions....I just showed the stylist a picture and she literally recreated it. Haha. She's a beautician AND a magician. I agree that Mare would be pretty even as a little baldy.
